Deer Park Avenue is a rock band founded by sisters Sarah Snyder and Stephanie Snyder. Born in California, Sarah and Stephanie’s roots trace back to Glarus generations ago. They grew up between California, Basel, and Long Island (where their name Deer Park Avenue came from). DPA were winners of the Hard Rock Rising (Washington, D.C.) battle of the bands and have played for tens of thousands of fans between Europe and the US. They have performed at high-profile venues including LA’s Whisky A Go-Go, Parterre in Basel, Switzerland, Madame Tussaud’s in Washington D.C., Slim’s in San Francisco, and festivals in Europe – StuStaCulum, Uni-Sommerfest, and Munich Unplugged by Munich Sessions, an acoustic festival around landmarks in Munich, Germany. In May 2018, they won the Songwriter Slam of Basel, Switzerland.

DPA’s first EP Stop & Go was nominated in many independent music awards and has been played on radio and online radio in the US and overseas. In June 2016 they released a self-titled project and toured in the US and Europe. DPA worked with producer Matt Bissonette (Brian Wilson, Elton John) and Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Starr, David Lee Roth) on the record. The album was featured on Amazing Radio’s Rock Show, the Deli, PopWrapped, and numerous music blogs and independent radio.

In February 2019, Deer Park Avenue signed with record label Muve Recordings, based in Zurich, Switzerland, and they are represented by Starfish Management based in Luzern. DPA recently completed a new album of 10 original songs with producer and Swiss native Reto Peter (Green Day, Modest Mouse, Counting Crows). While the bright, colourful sounds of their debut album channeled the California sun, their sophomore project evokes something tougher and deeper, with sonic and thematic elements recalling artists like Veruca Salt and Sleater Kinney.

Deer Park Avenue also conduct band workshops for teens, bringing rock and roll to the next generation by showing students how to be a band and grow in a community of music.
